A World Ozone Day awareness camp was hosted at the Jayapriya Vidyalaya Matriculation High School Campus, Gopalapuram, under the direction of C.R. Jayasankar, the founder and chairman of the Jayapriya Vidyalaya Group of Institutions, and N. S. Dinesh, director of Jayapriya Vidyalaya Group of Institutions.
On the occasion of World Ozone Day, Jayapriya Vidyalaya Matriculation High School in Virudhachalam, Gopalapuram, held an awareness camp for its students. The principal of the school, Sudarshana, presided over the camp and spoke on the importance of the ozone layer and the ways to protect it.
In her speech, Sudarshana said that the ozone layer is a protective shield that surrounds the Earth and protects us from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. She said that the ozone layer is essential for life on Earth and that we need to do everything we can to protect it.
Sudarshana also spoke about the causes of ozone depletion, such as the use of certain chemicals in refrigerators, air conditioners, and fire extinguishers. In his speech, Samuel Rajkumar, Associate Chief Environmental Engineer, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, noted that a number of environmental changes have occurred as a result of technological advancement, a rise in traffic volume, the usage of plastic materials, etc. He emphasized the value of recycling waste, particularly now that the ozone layer is suffering more damage.
Environmental researcher Rajeshwaran talked about the possible effects of ozone depletion and ways to prevent it.
Muthukumar, Chief Manager of TAQA POWER Pvt Company, spoke about the need for and benefits of tree planting. Chief Executive Engineer Pravin Kumar and Green Organization Ashwin Kumar spoke about environmental protection and steps to be taken to protect nature.
